Shirley Gee, Venture Partner
Shirley Gee has extensive executive-level experience in the entrepreneurship environment and investor ecosystem having invested in numerous start-up corporations and having served on a number of corporate Boards representing investors. She is an Accredited Investor within the Keiretsu Forum, a domestic and international investment community with 40 chapters all over the world with a specialty in life science and medical devices. She works with and mentors national laboratory scientists through the UC/Davis Entrepreneurship Academy helping scientists innovate in place or to move their IP’s and technology from the research laboratory environment to the commercial space and marketplace.
Gee is also the Managing Partner at Angel Plus, LLC (www.angelplusllc.com), a trusted validation firm for latter stage start-up’s, seeking capitalization to fund their enterprise. The firm performs high level/deep dive, due diligence reviews for companies operating domestically and internationally. She also works on innovation-related transactions including the identification of equity partners and the negotiation of licensing and merger and acquisition agreements. She works intimately with venture capitalists and capital funders to help identify start-up opportunities that have successfully passed her rigorous due diligence review. Her expertise includes developing educational content, facilitating cross border transactions, and assisting overseas investors with deal flow.
She was an Executive Senior Staff member and Department Head with Stanford University, where she worked for over 20+ years at one of its internationally renown research laboratories. She is a frequent panelist and lecturer and has traveled domestically and international to share her insight regarding the Silicon Valley’s capital eco-system, technology transfer, due diligences and capitalization, and best practices to enhance the entrepreneurship eco-system; thereby facilitating innovation and economic development within emerging economies.
